Honor to launch a quad camera smartphone in India, could be Honor 9 Lite


Honor phones have been on innovation spree with its camera and design. The company recently launched the Honor 9i- smartphone with four cameras and now another similar phone quad camera phone is on its way to Indian market. The company on Monday announced that it will launch a new quad camera smartphone  in the Indian market later this month.

” Taking forward the dual camera legacy, the next smartphone is tailor-made for the selfie lovers with dual front cameras. Building on the success of Honor 9i, the new smartphone with quad cameras will yet again raise the bar of smartphone photography.  With unconventional advanced technology and a milieu of quality products, Honor indeed has become a pioneer of camera smartphones,” the company said in a press statement.

The company has not mentioned any detail or the name of the upcoming phone but we are guessing it could be Honor 9 Lite smartphone which was launched in China last month.

To recall, Honor which is the sub-brand of Huawei launched the Honor 9 Lite on December 22, 2017 in the Chinese market. The smartphone not only belong to Honor’s quad camera lineage but also flaunts the ongoing trend of edge-to-edge display.

The Honor 9 Lite comes with two key highlights- camera and display. The smartphone features an 5.65-inch full-HD+ IPS display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.  There are four cameras- two at the back (13MP+2MP)and two on the front. The phone cameras are also equipped with LED flash and PDAF. Coming to the innards of the phone, Honor 9 Lite comes runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Honor’s EMUI skin on top and is powered by Huawei’d custom HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor. There are three variants of the phone based on the storage- one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, second with  4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage  and lastly with 4GB of RAM and 64GB  internal storage.  The launch price of the phone is CNY 1,199 roughly translates to Rs 12,000. Honor 9i was also a mid-budget phone launched at Rs 17,999. It wouldn’t be wrong to expect the new Honor phone priced on the similar lines i.e. under Rs 20,000.
